Living the life of a single person is very difficult, mainly because the absence of love from someone else than a family member.  In my opinion everybody needs some kind of love from someone because I feel like love can make us do wondrous things.  Being single helps us realize who we are, personality wise, and what we really want out of this life.  The main reason for that is because we have so much time to ourselves we begin to think about so many things on a daily basis.  I'm not saying this can't be done in a relationship, I'm just saying this process is harder when your single.  It's harder due to the absence of love; we go through phases and we believe we are something and then the next minute we are something else.  The longer your single and without love, you began to think "I'm alone in this world and no one understands me".  When your single you see everyone around you in love and it hurts to know your still alone out here.  And without that love you tend to do stupid things and feel like the scum of the earth.  A lot of times you become desperate just to find someone who can show you smallest bit of attention.  That's when social networking comes in, you began to see all the people you previously liked or loved talk about how much they in love someone else and how they are so done with you.  Or you would see the truths about people on the internet rather than them tell you "hey I'm not single" or "hey I'm not really interested but we can be cool".  Instead you get a big pile of emotions and heartbreak.  Being single has to be the biggest mental journey I have been on and it hurts to know I been through so much just because the truth is hard to give....
